What Bolivar Peninsula does to a window
Bolivar Peninsula runs about 27 miles from the ferry landing at Port Bolivar up Highway 87 through Crystal Beach, Caplen and Gilchrist, with the Gulf along the whole south side and East Bay and Galveston Bay along the north. There is no high ground and almost no tree cover, so the southeast breeze comes across the beach and lays salt on every window within a couple of weeks. The beachfront rows in Crystal Beach get the worst of it, and the bay-side homes around Port Bolivar and the old Intracoastal canal get a second dose whenever a north wind comes through in winter.
Almost everything on the peninsula was rebuilt after Ike put a storm surge over the whole thing in 2008, so the houses here are tall, on pilings, with wide decks and big walls of glass facing the water. That height catches more wind and more salt, and the shaded space underneath keeps the stair-side glass and the ground-level storage windows damp enough for mildew most of the year. Wind-blown sand from the beach access roads gets into every track and screen. Irrigation and outdoor showers on hard well water leave mineral spots along the lower panes, and the stretch from Gilchrist toward High Island adds marsh humidity off the bay.
A quarterly plan suits most peninsula homes a few rows back from the beach, with the inside glass done once a year. Beachfront homes in Crystal Beach and bayfront homes in Port Bolivar usually go to every month or two, and rental owners have us time the first clean of the year for just before spring break. We work Bolivar on its own day, from Port Bolivar up to Gilchrist in one pass, and send a text the morning of each visit so the owner or the rental manager knows we are on the ferry.

Bolivar Peninsula window cleaning questions
How much does window cleaning cost on Bolivar Peninsula?
First-clean pricing varies by home size and service package. A first cleaning, inside and out, is $259 for a home up to 2,000 square feet, $329 for 2,000 to 3,500 square feet, and $429 for larger homes on our Silver package. After that, a quarterly maintenance plan runs $60, $77, or $100 a month for those same home sizes. Oceanfront and riverfront estates get a custom quote.
How often should windows be cleaned on Bolivar Peninsula?
Beachfront homes in Crystal Beach and bayfront homes in Port Bolivar pick up salt film within weeks and do best every month or two. Homes a few rows back from the beach are fine on a quarterly plan. Most people have the inside glass done once a year.
Do you charge extra for the ferry?
No. We work the peninsula on a set day and the ferry is part of our route, so there is no travel charge. If the ferry line is long on a holiday weekend we may move the visit by a day, and we text you if that happens.
Can you clean the tall glass on an elevated beach house?
Yes. Most Bolivar homes sit a full story up on pilings with big Gulf-facing windows and deck doors. We clean them with water-fed poles from the ground and ladders where needed, and we clear the tracks of sand so the sliders run.
